Share a special memory of your time at Vinton-Shellsburg? Some of my best high school memories come from weekends spent at jazz band, speech and show choir competitions. I was also a golfer and still think about those Spring days at the Vinton Country Club.
Describe how your time at Vinton-Shellsburg has impacted your career/life in a positive way. My English courses and working on the Viking Voice really set me up for success when I got to college to and started pursuing a career in journalism. I had no idea at the time that running around VSHS with a camera would be the beginning of my career as a photojournalist.
What advice would you give students who are interested in going into a field similar? Don’t be afraid to try new things and put yourself out there. If you’re interested in photography, start taking photos!
