Athletes on the Vinton-Shellsburg volleyball team recently received recognition for outstanding individual performances and for contributing to an excellent year overall.

Named to the West Division All WaMaC Volleyball team from Vinton-Shellsburg are:

The Vinton-Shellsburg team had the 2nd most winning season in school history with a record of 28-14. It was also an excellent season for first-year coach Devin Kearns. Devin, a Vinton-Shellsburg graduate, became Vinton-Shellsburg volleyball coach after coaching in Colo-Nesco and in Mason City.

Volleyball is the fastest-growing school sport for Iowa girls and currently has more than 11,000 athletes participating.
